If you don’t have a voicemail setup and would like to remove the button from the phone keypad, you can now do it via Cydia’s jailbreak app called NoVoiceMail.

The basic requirement is to have iOS 4.0 or above.
It’s easy to install it, just launch Cydia and under the BigBoss repo, search for NoVoiceMail. Simply install and the button will be removed from your iPhone.
